About RMS Schools
Rashtriya Military Schools were initially established as King George's Royal Indian Military Schools to provide education for the sons of Defence personnel. In 1952, they were reorganized along the lines of Public Schools, opening admissions to sons of Defence Service Officers and civilians. By 1954, the schools joined the Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC) and have remained active members since. In 1966, they were renamed Military Schools, and the original motto, 'Play the Game,' was changed to "Sheelem Param Bhushanam," meaning "Character is the Highest Virtue." On June 25, 2007, they adopted the name "Rashtriya Military School."
Many alumni hold prominent positions in the Armed Forces and other sectors, contributing significantly to the nation.
